Event information

The Head of the Maribyrnong is a 3.5km time trial starting at Essendon Canoe Club and rowing downstream to Lynches Bridge.

PLEASE read the instructions and study the map so that you have a good understanding of all aspects of the race and know which bridge arch to take and the three ways you can be disqualified.

In summary:

  • Draw will be posted Friday afternoons
  • Bow numbers are available from Footscray RC from 7am
  • If you’re boating from Footscray RC, allow at least 30 minutes to row upstream to the start
  • If you’re boating from Essendon RC, allow 15 minutes to row downstream to the start
  • Racing starts at 8.30am
  • Have a good row
